Venezia Revisited
After visiting the de Young Museum exhibit: Monet and Venice I was inspired to revisit my images from a couple of trips (many years ago) to Venice. Shot with two early Nikon digital cameras the files proved to be contrasty and saturated. The shadows were noisy and the highlights were blown–wait that sounds like film! No complaints, but rather a fun opportunity to revisit and reprocess images that held up remarkable well over time. Curiously, I picked some images this time around that I had discarded back then. Which is justification for why I don’t throw away any images. I printed these images and I like the prints better; there is just a feel to them on paper that seems more Venetian…. A few years ago, The Leica Camera Blog did and interview with me and featured some of my Quesnel Lake work. Here is a link to that article.
